In celebration of the new recipe book Going Beyond Cream Chargers – the Cheeky Monkey shop has sent us a very simple idea to add a bit more oomph to plain old whipped cream

This idea is so simple that it is almost painful – all you need to do is add a 30% extra of flavoured yogurt t the cream before running it through the whipped equipment. ..

I told you it was simple now didn’t I!

In essence what you are really doing is making a smoothie – like in the video above, but then passing the whole thing through a whipped cream dispenser to inflate and thicken it.

Be sure to use full fat everything – don’t worry about the calories now – because this is what is needed for the nitrous charger to do its thing and inflate the cream – if you use low-cal stuff you’ll get the instant foam but it’ll turn into flaccid cream drips within a few minutes.

Also beware of any lumps in the yogurt – they probably won’t be blocking the nozzle in the charger unless they are really chunky – but part of the delight of the Yogurt Whipped Cream Toppers is the silky smooth texture that drips down your throat like manna from heaven.

Skip through to the second half if you are just interested in the ice cream bit – as ever it is all very specific and complicated but you can distil the essence of the idea without needing to go through the entire process exactly the same. The closer you can get to the scintific precision of Heston the closer you and your cream chargers will transport you to heaven!

Looking for a gift – looking for inspired ideas for you cream chargers then why not try out some mice-pie ice cream? The beauty of this recipe is that it combines the spicy sharpness of the mince-pie with the cream charger smoothness of the whipped cream – and of course there is some alcohol involved, just to make sure it is all going well…..

or alternatively make your own – for the cheats version then all you really need to do is to get some quality vanilla ice cream and stir in some tinned mincemeat for that creamy delight … don’t re-freeze becuse you’ll end up with bullet hard raisins – instead just make fresh and then serve with whipped cream.

and a amazing thing about milking camels is that the worse the conditions then the better the quality of the milk that they can produce. Which means that effective treat them mean to keep them keen – for the frothiest ice cream chargers then simply starve the beast then off you go… and yes I am expecting a visit from PETA some time quite soon.

Now there is more to report – according to voodooknifeblock.eu then the designer behind the ever-cool knife block is also launching a range of what is called the XXXitchen range – and judging from the images it is much more likely to be frivolous fun than it is going to be in the style of the voodoo knife block then it is going to be something harder along the lines of Mickey Rourke’s fridge exploits in 9 1/2 weeks

and after you’ve watched the video I’d just like to say that I too have an egg slicer like that! The new addition to the voodoo knife block range (which I know nothing much about at the moment) is has a publicity shot below – which I think suggest more coking fun than raunch …although what you actually do with your kitchen implements is entirely up to you …

voodoo xxitchen

and way take a look at the image and see what you thinkNow there is more to report – according to voodooknifeblock.eu then the designer behind the ever-cool knife block is also launching a range of what is called the XXXitchen range – and judging from the images it is much more likely to be frivolous fun than it is going to be in the style of the voodoo knife block then it is going to be something harder along the lines of Mickey Rourke’s fridge exploits in 9 1/2 weeks

Actually the more I see the more I like – it’s a bit “Benny Hill” but should definitely make for a fun gift…

I guess it’s just a bit of a shame that Raffaele Iannello no longer sells his pink voodoo man because I think that would be a great combo with the boobs above.

voodoo xxxitchen

Whilat I was looking for images then I came up with some other rather risqué kitchen implements that are definitely worth writing an article about later when I get the time – it would seem that with knife holders and rude sugar bowls that this website is straying a bit away from its original mandate which was very much based around ice cream and cream chargers – but perhaps I can rescue that with a few well aimed ice cream recipes for you to cut through with your knives and then serve in the plastic boob-bowls!

Vanilla ice cream is probably the most beloved ice cream variety, and also the most versatile, because it only takes a little bit of fantasy to combine it with all …

Vanilla ice cream is probably the most beloved ice cream variety, and also the most versatile, because it only takes a little bit of fantasy to combine it with all kinds of items, obtaining different products, personalized for every person so the cream chargers will give you a world of flexibility. Vanilla ice cream can be an indispensable garnish for a fruit pie, for any kind of pastry, cookies and deserts. It can also be simply served with syrups and sauces, which are even tastier if they are also homemade. Another advantage is that the degree of difficulty of ice cream preparing is very easy.

Ingredients:
Four cups of whip cream
Four cups of light cream
One cup of sugar
Two spoons of vanilla powder or vanilla pods
Four yolks
2x 8gm cream chargers
Raspberry Juice
Agar

Thus, the eggs and sugar are blended until a consistent cream is formed. The vanilla seeds, together with the vanilla pods are placed inside a pot, as well as the milk. The composition is heated until a crust is formed at the surface and it is about to boil. After half an hour, the pods are removed, and the milk is strained, so as to get rid of the seeds. This milk is then poured over the pot and it is heated.

The hot milk is poured over the egg cream little by little and by constantly beating it. The goal is to completely incorporate the two. The cream is then placed on fire, until it gets thick enough to fill the mixing spoon. When the cream is cold, the whip cream is added, and this is the basic ice cream composition that is left to cool at the kitchen’s temperature, and is then kept in the fridge for at least two hours, preferably over night.

The advantage of preparing ice cream in an ice cream machine is that there will be no ice threads inside it. The basic cream is poured inside the machine, which has already been kept in the freezer for minimum 12 hours. It takes 15 – 20 minutes for the ice cream to reach the right consistency, after which it is transferred in a bowl.

The cream chargers can be used to make a fruity mousse with the raspberry juice. Ideally you’d squeeze this yourself (being careful to remove the seeds) then warm with the agar before firing up the cream chargers to make a soft and yielding mousse.

Following on from the discussion about the voodoo knife block then how about this intriguing voodoo drink?

made by Rogue Ales here and an award winner too!

for me the main selling point i the suggested food pairing – they match it with …. wait for it … Doughnuts & Pork …which has to be a voodoo combination if ever there was one! The bottle is a winning, stand-out pink – which might put off a few manly beer guzzlers but might also attract a bit of interest from others.

The ingredients do actually include bacon – so it’s not jst a name and a flavour – and this means it is definitely not one for vegetarians!

This video takes and talks you through the drink, the food and the idea.

I just bought a voodoo knife block – when you think about your kitchen then do you think about a practical work space or a room in you house that …

I just bought a voodoo knife block – when you think about your kitchen then do you think about a practical work space or a room in you house that needs interior design elements to look the part. The choice was really between the voodoo knife holder and this – was I looking for a knife block that really only worked with set of knives or one that can take anything.Just like most people, I already own a selection of knives – they aren’t uniform and have generally been acquired over a period of time – the ms-mash nature of them is part of their appeal to me, each one has a level of individuality the blade, the handles all tell a story – the problem is that I am an unashamed follower of fashion so am not too keen to say that form follows function – indeed the exact opposite is actually true where I am concerned.

I would rather look good in uncomfortable clothes than slog around in my pyjamas – the same rules applied in my kitchen. The reviews of the voodoo knife block all led me to believe that the actual blades were not to flash – despite the amazingly cool look of the voodoo man! So my horns of dilemma lasted as long as it takes to drink the better part of a bottle of red – when I gave into my beauty is skin deep philosophy. I thought I could always leave the real knives hanging on a magnetic knife block somewhere entirely different and when I felt like a bit of nostalgia chopping then they would be there for me and when I had guests around my house for a dinner party then the voodoo man could show what a stylish individual I really am!

The holder hasn’t arrived so I’m in limb at the moment at the moment and can’t really say for sure if I made the right decisions – but as soon as I’ve diced and spliced then I’ll be able to analyse my decision and hope that I made the right choice …..
