Eat Beat Three Bites -Phoenix Magazine, Special Collector's Issue Dec 2010 by Carey Sweet, Photo's by Nathan Noyes

If it's the holidays, there must be candy cane ice cream in the freezers of this family-owned shop.  Owner Cathy Rasmussen has been making her mixes from scratch since 2008, meaning flavors change often and can cater just about any whim.  Specialties include peanut butter hash, Polar Tracks (chocolate covered peanuts, caramel and peanut butter cup) and caramel swirl cheesecake.

Even odder requests are met such as cotton candy, pancakes & coffee, cake batter and caramel apple.  The seasons inspire:Flavors of the month may include pumpkin or raspberry, and through the holidays Rasmussen will present chocolate-covered cherry, white chocolate peppermint, and double chocolate fudge brownie.

Turn your favorite flavor into a fountain float or soda, and plan a party - after dusk, the lights go down and the music cranks up.  Or bring the kidds - there are table games and a children's area with a blackboard wall.  For a bigger bite, Rasmussen also makes custom ice cream cakes.
